24. Small things in a big world
The goal of our photography is translating ideas into a visual story. In the creative process of building such a story, we, the photographers, are the directors and at the same time the implementers. When looking for a story location, we choose a certain corner of the coral reef or a certain part of the cave, thereby we define our platform - background. Metaphorically we create the "Big World", which will serve as the basis for the next micro-story. Since capturing the big world isn't enough to generate a wow effect, we need a micro-story to serve as a transition, which brings our audience deeper into the happening. This is why we need our foreground.
