36. Full speed, NO STROBES

In general, I’m a big fan of using strobes at almost any occasion. Either as the main light source to fully illuminate my subject, or just as a fine-tuning tool to bring more definition to the shadows. As I mentioned in previous editions, the light emitted from the strobes helps to separate the foreground object from the background, giving it color and contrast, but most importantly for today's topic, it freezes the movement, thus preventing unwanted motion blur. But what if for some reason we can't use strobes? Or, what if conditions require us to leave the strobes on the boat to be able to swim faster and position ourselves for the perfect shot?
